Materials: one 2x4, one 1x4 (or pallet planks), sixteen 3/8" dowels, 1 1/2" wood screws, wood glue, black semi-gloss paint, wipe-on polyurethane.
Tools used: table saw, mitre saw (with a stop block), countersink bit (3/8"), clamps (plus 2 plastic clamps), Japanese hand saw, sander. A planer is optional.
